FAQ Loader
Load structured Q&A data to power your AI assistant’s responses
Overview
The FAQ Loader node stores question-and-answer pairs that your AI assistant uses to respond to customer inquiries. It is ideal for structured, predictable information like business hours, pricing, policies, and common customer questions.
Use the FAQ Loader when you have specific questions with definitive answers. For unstructured content like web pages, documents, or long-form text, use the Knowledge Base node instead.
Configuration
Title
Type: text
Required: No
Default: “FAQ Loader”
A descriptive name for this FAQ collection. Use names that help you identify what FAQs are stored here, such as “Business Hours FAQ” or “Shipping Policy Q&A”.
Example:
Customer Support FAQFAQ Questions & Answers
Type: table
Required: Yes (at least one FAQ for the node to be useful)
A table of question-answer pairs. Each row contains:
- Question: The question a customer might ask (natural language)
- Answer: The response your AI will provide
Example:
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What are your business hours? | We are open Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Eastern Time. |
| Do you offer free shipping? | Yes, we offer free shipping on orders over $50. |
| How do I track my order? | You can track your order by logging into your account and clicking on Order History. |
AI Import Feature
The FAQ Loader includes an AI Assist button that automatically extracts FAQs from your website. This saves time when you already have FAQ content published online.
How to use AI Import:
- Click the AI Assist button in the properties panel
- Enter your website URL (e.g., your FAQ page or help center)
- Select how many pages to crawl (1 to 10 pages)
- Click Extract FAQs and wait for the AI to analyze your content
- Review the extracted FAQs in the preview
- Click Import to add them to your FAQ Loader
Tips for AI Import:
- Point to pages with FAQ content for best results (FAQ pages, help centers, support sections)
- Start with fewer pages (3-5) for faster extraction
- Extracted FAQs are added to your existing entries, not replaced
- Always review and edit imported FAQs for accuracy
How It Works
- Add FAQs: Enter question-answer pairs manually or import them from your website using AI Assist
- Connect to Query Processor: Link the FAQ Loader to a Query Processor node in your flow
- AI Uses Your FAQs: When customers ask questions, the AI searches your FAQs for matching answers
- Automatic Syncing: Your FAQ content is automatically synced to power the connected AI nodes
Connection Rules
| Direction | Allowed | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Inputs | Many | Can receive connections from any node type |
| Outputs | Many | Typically connects to Query Processor nodes |
Connection Pattern:
Start Node --> FAQ Loader --> Query Processor --> End NodeMultiple FAQ Loaders can connect to the same Query Processor to combine knowledge from different sources.

Best Practices
-
Keep answers concise: Clear, direct answers work better than lengthy explanations. Aim for 1-3 sentences per answer.
-
Use natural language questions: Write questions the way customers actually ask them. “What are your hours?” is better than “Business Operating Hours”.
-
Group related topics: Create separate FAQ Loaders for different topics (e.g., one for shipping, one for returns, one for product info). This keeps your flows organized.
-
Update regularly: Review and update FAQs when policies, hours, or information changes to keep your AI accurate.
-
Start simple: Begin with your 10-20 most frequently asked questions. You can always add more later.
Common Issues
”My AI is not using the FAQ answers”
Solution: Verify the FAQ Loader is connected to a Query Processor node. The FAQ Loader only provides data; the Query Processor is what uses it to answer questions. Check the connection line between the nodes.
”AI Import is not finding FAQs”
Solution: Make sure you’re pointing to a page that actually contains FAQ content. The AI looks for question-answer patterns, so pages with general content may not yield good results. Try pointing directly to your FAQ or Help Center page.
”Imported FAQs are incomplete or incorrect”
Solution: AI extraction is not perfect. Always review imported FAQs and edit them for accuracy. You can delete irrelevant entries and manually add any questions the AI missed.
”Service unavailable” message in AI Assist
Solution: The web crawling service may be temporarily unavailable. You can still add FAQs manually by clicking Add FAQ and entering questions and answers directly.
FAQ Loader vs Knowledge Base
| Feature | FAQ Loader | Knowledge Base |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Specific Q&A pairs | Unstructured content |
| Content type | Questions + Answers | URLs, documents, text |
| Structure | Table format | Document/URL list |
| Use case | ”What are your hours?” | Product manuals, policies |
When to use FAQ Loader:
- You have specific questions with specific answers
- Content is structured as Q&A pairs
- You want precise control over answers
When to use Knowledge Base:
- You have existing documents or web pages
- Content is long-form or unstructured
- You want the AI to extract relevant information
You can use both nodes in the same flow by connecting them to the same Query Processor.
